Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival
I recently created a "Green Room" at the Annual Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival. In partnership with my friend, Kelly McGovern of Kelly McGovern Garden Design, we decorated a room at the Burr mansion with completely green decorations and gifts. We used items found in our yards like acorns, hydrangeas and evergreens, fresh produce from the grocery store like grapefruit, celementines, apples, cinnamon sticks, cloves etc. and we gave new uses to old things like cigar boxes, wine corks, empty coffee cans etc. What we demonstrated was that the Holidays do not have to be wasteful or harmful to the environment. Going back to some old-fashioned traditions, like making pomanders, can be fun too. To order custom made wine cork wreaths, contact greentime@att.net
